After more than a decade at the helm of The Boot Factory, the owner, Henry, felt something stirring - a spark, a quiet pull toward something new. For years, the café had been a beloved fixture of the Pentridge community, a place where locals gathered over coffee, conversation, and comforting meals. But as the sun set and the doors closed each evening, Henry couldn’t help but imagine what the space might become after dark.

Two unforgettable evening events last year brought that vision into focus. The laughter, the energy, the way the historic walls seemed to hum with life - it was a glimpse of what could be. And so, the idea took hold: to transform the familiar into something fresh, to create nights as memorable as the days that came before them.

Harper & Sole

Enter Harper & Sole - a new chapter in the Pentridge story.

While The Boot Factory continues to welcome its loyal daytime crowd, Friday and Saturday nights now see the space reborn. As the lights dim and the music shifts, Harper & Sole takes over offering modern Australian cuisine with a global edge. The menu celebrates creativity and connection, pairing bold flavours with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

It’s more than a dining experience; it’s an invitation. A place where you can settle in with friends, share a bottle, and linger a little longer.

Harper & Sole officially opens on Friday, November 28, from 5pm.

After opening night, the venue will be open every Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 10pm, bringing warmth, flavour, and energy to Pentridge after dark. Make sure you reserve your table.

For Henry, the dream is simple: to breathe life into Pentridge after dark. With Harper & Sole, that dream is becoming reality - a destination where great food, good company, and unforgettable nights come together under one roof.
